  It was a perfect Halloween week with the family, in a protected environment, like Halloweens's of the past. The grandchildren's anticipation for the big day grew as the decorations went up all around us.
  So many homes participated in a big way and were even in character for trick or treating. Handing out candy at our house was as much fun as going to the homes of others!

  We love renting on the Island. My brother lived on the big Island for 6 years and my parents rent every summer as well. Over the years we have rented all along the oc coast and now that my brother bought a home in Costa Mesa we have grown attached to the area. I used to live in CDM and know the area very well. this is the 2nd summer we rented on Sapphire. We love the location and the house but the owners really need to provide at least 2 more fans, one for each bedroom. The upstairs gets really hot and is hard to cool down. Next year we'd like a similar property with air conditioning.

  Love the walk around the island. So many things to see while walking by the bay. from standup paddle boards to huge ships sailing in and out from the Pacific. Short walk to a great downtown with unique shops and restaurants. Friendly people with beautiful, rare dogs.

  And the view from the patio is truly relaxing. Lucky for us we have fily that lives nearby and had access to bikes, kayak, and paddleboard. Although rentals are available everywhere. The only unpleasant thing is the wake up call at 7am every morning of planes overhead, But it does get you up for an extra long beautiful beach day!

  We all loved this place. Its been decorated, and set up with just about everything your family might wish for. We like to cook and BBQ for lots of family and friends, while staying on the Island...and this kitchen was our Chef's favorite. We will be back, friends planning to use same property also. great location and neighbors too. In fact, my Grand-daughter asked if we could just buy it! That is still pending.
